2 rocket scientists Alan Bond and Mark Hempsell think that they have finaly solved 1 of the biggest bible mysteries , the destruction of SODOM by GOD! . The key to this was a clay tablet written upon by a sumerian astrologer that mentioned a huge asteroid to hit that region . The scientists spent 8yrs deciphering the tablet which was found by victorian archaeologist Henry Layard . They made a computer simulation of the night sky at around the time mentioned on the tablet and indeed found an asteroid of the aten variety scientists think that the mile wide asteroid that hit the region would have destroyed over 386.000sq miles and the plume of smoke would have been seen over several hundred miles , the asteroid from the description of the tablet would have exploded close to the ground but would not have impacted , thereby leaving no crator , but the force would have been equivalent to more than 1.000tons of T.N.T. and the date given from the tablet the scientists worked out would have been around dawn on june 29th 3123b.c. ! . Other scientists have been quick to decry the findings saying that we do not know enough about the sumerian language to be able to decipher the tablet with any amount of accuracy and that the sumerians could not have been that advanced in mapping the night sky .
